Pyramids

Last week Frank Ocean released his new track ‘Pyramids’ in anticipation of his forthcoming album ‘Chanel Orange’ due to be released 17th July. At almost 10 minutes long, I’ve had this one on repeat for the past week (as I lay on the beach) – it is just too chill. The laid back guitar solo used at the end is played by John Mayer & makes the perfect outro to this sensual beat. If this track is anything to judge Chanel Orange by – its going to be epic.

Wythe Hotel, Brooklyn

Housed in an old factory on the Brooklyn waterfront, the Wythe Hotel has been restored to include its original industrial features whilst incorporating luxe hospitality elements. The hotel epitomises the boom of its local neighbourhood in becoming one of the ‘hippest’ boroughs in NYC. Heated concrete floors & two-way bathroom mirrors capturing the Manhattan skyline all add to the cool/historic vibe of this hotel.

The adjacent building has been decorated with vintage Brooklyn logos by Steve Powers to give non-view rooms a piece of art to look onto.

The hotel features ‘Band Rooms’, located on the 6th floor (conveniently next to the bar) containing sets of twin bunk beds & floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing views of the Manhattan skyline & Brooklyn rooftops. These rooms were designed on the recommendation of the creators behind the Brooklyn Bowl  music venue & are meat for traveling bands needing a place to stay.
